Ingredients
- 2 large (9-inch) pie crusts
- 2 1/2 cups brown sugar, such as demerara
- 1 large free-run egg
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 small pinch ground himalayan sea salt
- 1 teaspoon milk, for brushing
How To Make tarte au sucre - sugar pie

Step 1Preheat oven to 375ºF. Mix all the ingredients in a blender.

Step 2In a greased-floured pie plate, pour in the sugar mixture. Place another pie crust on top, crimp and brush with milk. Make a few incisions and transfer to a 375ºF preheated oven. Bake the pie for 50-55 minutes or until the crust is nice and brown

Step 3Remove from the heat and let it cool off for 15 minutes before serving.
