southern sweet potato pie
Sometimes simple is best. This was my kids fathers great grandmothers recipe. My sons favorite pie. And honestly I've tried a lot of recipes hands down this is the best. Fresh sweet potatoes work best. You won't regret it. You can use this for the sweet potatoes suffle as well. Just place in baking dish cook 30 minutes and top with brown sugar pecan and butter or marshmallow and put back in oven for 10 minutes 5 lbs makes about 6 cups of mashed sweet potatoes.

Ingredients
- 5 pounds sweet potatoes
- 1/3 stick butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 pie crust shell
How To Make southern sweet potato pie

Step 1Boil sweet potatoes until soft. Peel and mash

Step 2Take 3 cups of mashed sweet potatoes and mix other ingredients in until well blended and smooth

Step 3Pour into pie shells and bake in preheated oven. 350° for 35 minutes
