For awhile I was making 10 of these pies for my church at the "Thanksgiving Dinner".

    pie crust --- top & bottom
  • 2 c
  • 1 1/2 c
    cold water
  • 1 c
  • 4 Tbsp
  • 2
    juice of 2 lemons
  • ·
    lemon rind of 1 lemon
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1
    egg, beaten

How to Make RAISIN PIE "1949"


  1. Preheat oven: 450 degrees.... Prepare crust & place in bottom of "deep dish" pie dish; set aside.
  2. In medium saucepan add water, raisins, sugar & cornstarch. Cook until thickened.

    Remove from heat- stir in the lemon juice, lemon rind, butter & beaten egg.
  3. Let cool somewhat & then spoon into bottom pie crust. Place a top crust on & prick with fork to make holes. if desired sprinkle top with a little sugar.

    Bake for 25 minutes.
