DELICIOUS !!!! For awhile I was making 10 of these pies for my church at the "Thanksgiving Dinner".

Ingredients

  • - pie crust --- top & bottom
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 1 1/2 cups cold water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 - juice of 2 lemons
  • - lemon rind of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 - egg, beaten

How To Make raisin pie "1949"

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven: 450 degrees.... Prepare crust & place in bottom of "deep dish" pie dish; set aside.
  • Step 2
    In medium saucepan add water, raisins, sugar & cornstarch. Cook until thickened. Remove from heat- stir in the lemon juice, lemon rind, butter & beaten egg.
  • Step 3
    Let cool somewhat & then spoon into bottom pie crust. Place a top crust on & prick with fork to make holes. if desired sprinkle top with a little sugar. Bake for 25 minutes.
