Ingredients

  • 3 OR 4 large
    baking apples
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/.2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • TOPPING:

  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 stick
    butter

How to Make PAPER BAG APPLE PIE

Step-by-Step

  1. Peel apples, cut into quarters then cut each quarter crosswise to make chunks.
  2. Sprinkle flour, sugar, and nutmeg over apples until well coated.
  3. Put in a 9 inch unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle over with lemon juice.
  4. Cover with the topping mixture. Slide into large paper bag, fold over end of bag and fasten with paper clips.
  5. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Remove from oven, slit bag and cool.
  6. Serve with cheese or ice cream.
