Ingredients

1/2 c
water
2 Tbsp
white sugar
1 Tbsp
corn starch
3
egg whites
1/4 tsp
cream of tarter
1 pinch
salt
1/2 tsp
vanilla extract
6 Tbsp
white sugar

How to Make Meringue

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine water, 2 Tbsp. sugar and cornstarch in saucepan. Cook over low heat until clear, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
  • 2Beat egg whites, cream of tarter and salt in large mixing bowl until mixture is foamy. Add vanilla and gradually add 6 Tbsp. sugar; beating constantly until meringue forms soft peaks. Gradually add cornstarch mixture, beating until stiff. Spread over top of pie and seal to crust. Brown in oven.
