- FILLING:
- 6 cups sliced, pared tart apples
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3/4 cup cream or milk
- 2 tablespoons margarine or butter,softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup bisquick baking mix
- STREUSEL TOPPING:
- 1 cup bisquick baking mix
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons firm margarine or butter

Step 1Heat oven to 325^. Grease a 10-inch pie plate. Mix apples and spices; pour into the buttered pie plate. Beat remaining ingredients until smooth,15 seconds in blender on high or 1 minute with hand beater. Pour into pour into plate over apple mixture. Sprinkle with topping. Bake until knife inserted in center comes out clean about 55-65 minutes, cool. Serve with a big scoop of ice cream. --- TOPPING: Mix Bisquick, nuts and brown sugar together. Cut margarine in, until crumbly. --- Note: High altitude 3500 to 6500 feet: Heat oven to 350^. Use 5 cups thinly sliced apples.
