Easy, Simple, and Perfect! This is one of the best pie crusts I have ever tasted, so remember this recipe when you want to whip up your favorite chocolate, coconut custard or banana cream pie. Butter, graham cracker crumbs and sugar are perfectly balanced in this recipe. And the mixture presses nicely into a pie pan, and can be pre-baked or just chilled. Photo is my own.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 - cups finely ground graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 - cup white sugar
  • 1/2 - teaspoon nutmeg (use cinnamon for fruit pies)
  • 1 - stick of melted butter

  • Step 1
    Lazy way Instructions: Use a rolling pin or a can of soup and a zip lock bag to crush the graham crackers. Then add the nutmeg, sugar, then add the melted butter, knead and turn out into the pie pan or springform pan. Can also be used in a bowl for fluff. Use the 1/3 measure cup you used for the sugar to press it down into the pie pan. No mess! Original Recipe Instructions: Mix graham cracker crumbs, nutmeg, sugar, melted butter or margarine, and cinnamon until well blended . Press mixture into an 8 or 9 inch pie plate or springform pan. Bake at 375 degrees F for 7 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool. If recipe calls for unbaked pie shell, just chill for about 1 hour. Enjoy!
