Just in time for Thanksgiving. Give your favorite pie a new twist. The tart cranberries and candied walnuts really play well off each other while the molasses gives a smooth finish. Please Enjoy and Happy Baking!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cranberries, fresh
  • 3/4 cup candied walnuts
  • 1/2 cup instant oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup irish oatmeal (steel cut)
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup flaxseeds
  • 1 tablespoon molasses, dark
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice, ground
  • - water if needed

How To Make candied walnut and cranberry spice pie crust

  • Step 1
    Place all ingredients in a food processor.
  • Step 2
    Pulse about 5 times then blend smooth.
  • Step 3
    If needed, add a teaspoon of water at a time.
  • Step 4
    Press into a greased pie dish.
  • Step 5
    Fill with pie filling. Bake as usual.
  • Step 6
    If leaving pie crust exposed, use a pie ring for half of the baking time.
