Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon wheat germ
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 cups cut-up ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

How To Make whole wheat banana bread

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Measure flour, wheat germ, baking soda and salt into large bowl.
  • Step 3
    Stir to blend.
  • Step 4
    In bowl of food processor, combine the eggs, banana, honey, vegetable oil, lemon juice and vanilla until well blended.
  • Step 5
    Pour over flour mixture.
  • Step 6
    Add walnuts.
  • Step 7
    Stir with rubber spatula just until blended.
  • Step 8
    Pour into a greased and floured 8 X 5 X 3-inch loaf pan.
  • Step 9
    Bake at 350 degrees F until sides pull away from pan and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 45 to 55 minutes.
  • Step 10
    Cool on rack before removing from pan.
