Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2-1/3 cup milk

How To Make amish caramel frosting

  • Step 1
    Cook butter and brown sugar over low heat until bubbly. Boil for 1 minute.
  • Step 2
    Next, slowly add milk while stirring and boil again.
  • Step 3
    Upon boiling, immediately remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
  • Step 4
    Then add vanilla and powdered sugar until spreadable.
  • Step 5
    Recipe can be doubled if you want thicker frosting.
