I got this off of fb, it is our absolute fave apple recipe of all time. Hubby likes it for breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages pillsbury crescent rolls
  • 2 - apples (your choice)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 dash cinnamon
  • 12 ounces mountain dew (trust me)

How To Make pioneer woman's apple dumplings

  • Step 1
    Peel and core apples. Cut into 8 slices each
  • Step 2
    Open and separate crescent rolls. Roll each apple slice in 1 crescent roll.
  • Step 3
    Place into a 9x13 baking dish.
  • Step 4
    Melt butter. Add sugar, barely stir in. Add Vanilla.
  • Step 5
    Pour over apples.
  • Step 6
    Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan.
  • Step 7
    Sprinkle liberally with cinnamon.
  • Step 8
    Bake at 350* for 40 minutes. This is very easy to cut in 1/2, making only 8 dumplings. It is a very forgiving recipe, you can use Diet Dew/Sprite, Sierra Mist, Splenda, oleo, low fat crescent rolls. We like it best full fat/sugar and flavor.
