cinnamon, vanilla & pear crisp
Something different than your Apple Crisp, but still delicious! This is a recipe I adapted from a Curtis Stone recipe when he had to show "Take Home Chef"

Ingredients
- FRUIT FILLING
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 5 - ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- CRISP TOPPING
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup old fashioned or quick cooking oats
- 1 stick butter, cut into pieces
- 3/4 cup sliced almonds, coarsely chopped
- - pinch of salt
How To Make cinnamon, vanilla & pear crisp

Step 1Preheat oven to 350.

Step 2Put sugar and cinnamon in an 8 inch square baking dish, mix to distribute the cinnamon evenly. Add in the pears and toss to coat. Sprinkle vanilla extract over pears and mix.

Step 3In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, oats and salt to blend. Using your fingers, rub the butter into the flour mixture until moist crumbs form. Mix in the almonds.

Step 4Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the pear mixture. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the fruit is tender and the topping is golden brown.

Step 5Let set for 10 minutes to cool slightly. Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
