Cinnamon, Vanilla & Pear Crisp
This is a recipe I adapted from a Curtis Stone recipe when he had to show "Take Home Chef"
5ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
1/2 cold fashioned or quick cooking oats
1 stickbutter, cut into pieces
3/4 csliced almonds, coarsely chopped
·pinch of salt
How to Make Cinnamon, Vanilla & Pear Crisp
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Put sugar and cinnamon in an 8 inch square baking dish, mix to distribute the cinnamon evenly. Add in the pears and toss to coat. Sprinkle vanilla extract over pears and mix.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, oats and salt to blend. Using your fingers, rub the butter into the flour mixture until moist crumbs form. Mix in the almonds.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the pear mixture. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the fruit is tender and the topping is golden brown.
- Let set for 10 minutes to cool slightly. Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
