Something different than your Apple Crisp, but still delicious! This is a recipe I adapted from a Curtis Stone recipe when he had to show "Take Home Chef"

prep time 10 Min
cook time 45 Min
method ---
yield 8 x8 pan

Ingredients

  • FRUIT FILLING
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 5 - ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • CRISP TOPPING
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned or quick cooking oats
  • 1 stick butter, cut into pieces
  • 3/4 cup sliced almonds, coarsely chopped
  • - pinch of salt

How To Make cinnamon, vanilla & pear crisp

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350.
  • Step 2
Put sugar and cinnamon in an 8 inch square baking dish, mix to distribute the cinnamon evenly. Add in the pears and toss to coat. Sprinkle vanilla extract over pears and mix.
  • Step 3
In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, oats and salt to blend. Using your fingers, rub the butter into the flour mixture until moist crumbs form. Mix in the almonds.
  • Step 4
Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the pear mixture. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the fruit is tender and the topping is golden brown.
  • Step 5
Let set for 10 minutes to cool slightly. Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
