- FILLING:
- 4 large apples, granny smith
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- TOPPING
- 2/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
How To Make apple crumble

Step 1FOR THE FILLING: Peel, core, and slice the apples. Layer the apple slices in a greased 2-qt. baking dish. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the apple slices.

Step 2FOR THE TOPPING: In a large bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, granulated sugar and butter (not melted). Mix well. Sprinkle the topping mixture over the apple mixture.

Step 3Bake in a preheated 425-degree oven for 20-25 minutes, until the apples have softened and the crumble topping is lightly golden.

Step 4Serve warm--with vanilla ice cream, or whipped topping, if desired.
