Ingredients

FILLING:

4 large
apples, granny smith
2 Tbsp
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp
cinnamon

TOPPING

2/3 c
all purpose flour
1/3 c
rolled oats
3 Tbsp
granulated sugar
1/2 c
(1 stick) butter

How to Make APPLE CRUMBLE

Step-by-Step

  • 1FOR THE FILLING: Peel, core, and slice the apples. Layer the apple slices in a greased 2-qt. baking dish. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the apple slices.
  • 2FOR THE TOPPING: In a large bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, granulated sugar and butter (not melted). Mix well. Sprinkle the topping mixture over the apple mixture.
  • 3Bake in a preheated 425-degree oven for 20-25 minutes, until the apples have softened and the crumble topping is lightly golden.
  • 4Serve warm--with vanilla ice cream, or whipped topping, if desired.
