I found this recipe in a stack of magazines and other recipes, torn out of an unknown magazine source. But I know why I saved it. The picture looks fabulous and I just know it is yummy. Can't wait to try it! 10-25-14

Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 package (8 oz.) cool whip, thawed
  • 1 - chocolate crumb crust (8 inches)
  • 1/4 cup baking cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling

How To Make black forest cheesecake

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in sour cream and vanilla, and then fold in Cool Whip.
  • Step 2
    Spread half of the mixture evenly into the chocolate crumb crust.
  • Step 3
    Fold the cocoa and powdered sugar gently into the remaining Cool Whip mixture; carefully spread over the cream cheese layer.
  • Step 4
    Refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Cut into slices; top each slice with cherry pie filling.
