Grandma Katherine was a self taught cook. She often created her own recipes by taste. She loved tart and sweet!

Ingredients

  • CRUST
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • FILLING
  • 4 - eggs
  • 2/3 cup lemon juice
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 teaspoons fresh lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

How To Make grandma katherine's lemon bars

  • Step 1
    Cream three ingredients and place in bottom of a 9x13 pan.
  • Step 2
    Bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until golden coloring just begins.
  • Step 3
    Cream the remaining ingredients (all but baking powder) in mixer while crust is baking.
  • Step 4
    When crust is ready, add powder to mix. Mix.
  • Step 5
    Pour over crust and continue baking for an additional 25 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Once cooled, dust top with powder sugar. Enjoy!
