homemade pb, chocolate, & banana blizzard

A fellow foodie friend Kim and her hubby Tony were talking about the Chocolate PB pie Blizzard at DQ on FB. It made me want one badly..but I'm trying to get some weight off, so I decided to make a healthier homemade version. I always have bananas in my freezer, and Greek yogurt in my fridge, and fresh ground peanut or almond butter..so a match was made in heaven. Thanks Kim & Tony for the inspiration. yummm

Ingredients

  • 1 medium frozen ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup plain nonfat greek yogurt
  • 3 - 4 tablespoons natural peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
  • 1 - 2 tablespoons agave syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted dark chocolate chips (more antioxidants)

How To Make homemade pb, chocolate, & banana blizzard

  • Step 1
    Place all ingredients in a blender except chocolate. Blend until smooth, but still thick, adding milk or cream if needed. You want it to be like a Blizzard on a hot day. Add chocolate and blend another 15 seconds.
  • Step 2
    Serve in a glass (best if cold & frosty out of the freezer) Top with a drizzle of chocolate and a dollop of peanut butter. Enjoy!
