I made these once and they were not only quick and easy but completely irresistible!

Ingredients

  • - saltine crackers - enough to cover the bottom of a jelly roll pan
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup chopped nuts

How To Make saltine toffee

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Grease a jelly roll pan, and line pan with saltine crackers in single layer.
  • Step 3
    In a saucepan combine the sugar and the butter. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Immediately pour over saltines and spread to cover crackers completely.
  • Step 5
    Bake for 5 to 6 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let sit for 5 minutes. Spread melted chocolate in an even layer. Top with chopped nuts.
  • Step 7
    Cool completely and break into pieces.
