This is a delicious no bake dessert. I decided to try creating something new. The bottom of the bars are made with crispy rice cereal Peanut butter and chocolate. They have a layer of chunky Peanut Butter Marshmallow . Then I topped them off with Chocolate. I have a new big hit in my home. We are loving these. Enjoy all! :-)

Ingredients

  • NOTE: CUT RECIPE IN HALF FOR AN 8 X 8 PAN.
  • 1 1/2 cups peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter chopped
  • 3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 5 cups crispy rice cereal( rice krispies)
  • MARSHMALLOW LAYER
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 1/2 cups marshmallow fluff or cream
  • 4 tablespoons crunchy peanut butter
  • CHOCOLATE TOP
  • 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 tsp shortening
  • - jimmies, sprinkles, m&m , or reesces pieces candies or chopped peanut butter cups.

How To Make peanut butter crispy nougat bars by nor

  • Step 1
    Foil line , or parchment line a 9x13 inch pan. spray foil with vegetable oil spray if using foil to line. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl place chopped butter and peanut butter. Place in microwave for 2- 3 minutes or until everything is really melted. Take out of microwave and mix.
  • Step 3
    Add in the 3/4 cup of chocolate chips and mix together well. Chocolate chips will melt into the mixture. Add powdered sugar and puffed rice cereal. mix altogether. Spread mixture evenly into the buttered 9 x 13 pan. Place in fridge to set up a little bit.
  • Step 4
    While that is in the fridge. make the peanut butter marshmallow topping.
  • Step 5
    In a saucepan. Melt butter on medium low heat. add in the sugar, and milk. Cook until sugar disolves.
  • Step 6
    When sugar is disolved. Bring mixture up to a boil. While mixture is boiling. Stir frequently for about 5 minutes.
  • Step 7
    Remove from heat. Add in the marshmallow and peanut butter. Stir until well combined. Pour over chilled bottom layer and refigerate for 1 hour.
  • Step 8
    Set microwave timer to 2 1/2 minutes. Place 2 cups of chocolate chips in a bowl. Top with the shortening. Place bowl and microwave. Stop every 30 seconds to stir. You will do this until chocolate is melted completely combined and is all melted. Do not overcook. Remove from microwave and let cool for at least five -ten minutes.
  • Step 9
    Spread chocolate over marshmallow topping on bars. Optional- At this point you can sprinkle with Jimmies or candies. reeces pieces, m&m's etc. Place back in the fridge until it is set. About an hour. Cut into small bars and serve. enjoy!
