Christmas season is in full swing already! We are having our Christmas party a week before Thanksgiving since we have such a Blessed Large family. So I need some different types of cookies and I came across these beautiful cookies and had to make them! And I'm so glad I did, my Aunt Bea LOVED them!!!! These are so yummy and adorable! They sorta taste like gingerbread, but not as strong. The white chocolate compliments the ginger and spices perfectly. Ingredients

  • COOKIE

  • 4 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 c
    shortening
  • 1/2 c
    light molasses
  • 2 large
    eggs
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    ginger,ground
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 1 tsp
    cloves,ground
  • 1/2 c
    sugar (for rolling in)
  • DECORATING

  • 1
    (24 oz ) white almond bark
  • ·
    candy sprinkles
  • WAX PAPER

How to Make Ginger Molasses Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350*.
  2. In a large mixing bowl combine brown sugar, eggs, molasses; mix well.
  3. Add shortening, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves; mix well.Add flour 1 C at a time, mixing well.
  4. Make 1 inch balls, roll in sugar and place on a un-greased cookies sheet.
  5. Bake for 8-10 min (I did 9 min ) Cookies WILL crack. Cool on rack. Melt almond bark according to package directions (I use the oven method). Place almond bark on a ungreased pan, and bake for 10 mins at 160* (or the lowest setting on your oven).
  6. Using a spoon to help cover each cookie half way, place on waxed paper, add sprinkles, allow to dry completely
  7. These are super cute and festive! These will be at my Christmas parties till the end of my days!!!! These are so classy looking and taste as good as they look! I hope you get a chance to try them for yourself! Merry Christmas and Enjoy!!
