My all time favorite cookie are these cookies. They stay nice and chewy and have a wonderful buttery finish.

all purpose flour
1 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
1 c
butter, unsalted (softened to room temperature)
1 c
1 c
firmly packed dark brown sugar (make sure you use dark brown sugar or cookies will not be as chewy)
2 tsp
vanilla extract
2 large
3 c
oatmeal, uncooked
1 1/2 c
chocolate chips (i prefer milk chocolate but up to you)
1 c
chopped walnuts

How to Make Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies


  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine dry ingredients flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and set aside. In a large bowl cream softened butter, sugar, dark brown sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add about 1/3 of your dry ingredients and mix just until flour is no longer visisble. Then repeat until all flour mixture has been added. Stir in oatmeal, chips and walnuts.
  • 2Using a cookie scoop drop onto ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 11-12 minutes. Let cool on sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to cooling rack. Enjoy!
