My all time favorite cookie are these cookies. They stay nice and chewy and have a wonderful buttery finish.

Ingredients For chewy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies

  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    butter, unsalted (softened to room temperature)
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    firmly packed dark brown sugar (make sure you use dark brown sugar or cookies will not be as chewy)
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 3 c
    oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1 1/2 c
    chocolate chips (i prefer milk chocolate but up to you)
  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts

How To Make chewy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine dry ingredients flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and set aside. In a large bowl cream softened butter, sugar, dark brown sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add about 1/3 of your dry ingredients and mix just until flour is no longer visisble. Then repeat until all flour mixture has been added. Stir in oatmeal, chips and walnuts.

    Using a cookie scoop drop onto ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 11-12 minutes. Let cool on sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to cooling rack. Enjoy!
