butterscotch brownies
Very old heirloom recipe of mom's. I found it when we were cleaning out her stuff. It is from my childhood days. Really good but no baking chips!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup , melted
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour, sifted
- 1 teaspoon double acting baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1-11/2 cup nuts ( pecans peanuts walnuts .... ) your choice finely chopped
How To Make butterscotch brownies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350oo Melt butter (mama used sauce pan, I microwave). Stir into sugar til melted together . Set aside and COOL these mixture.

Step 2Beat in egg well

Step 3Add vanilla .

Step 4Sift flour with baking powder, & salt this is your 2nd sift!! Stir into butter mixture that's cool.

Step 5Add nuts. Roll nuts in a bit of flour if you want.

Step 6Pour batter inroads greased 9x9 square pan.

Step 7Bake 20-25 mins @ 350oo

Step 8Cool completely . Cut into 16 THIN 21/2 in squares
