    eggs, separated
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 2
    lemons
  • 1 Tbsp
    unflavored gelatin
  • 1/4 c
    cold water
  • 1
    angel food cake, pieces
  • 1 pkg
    cool whip whipped topping

How To Make lemon angel custard dessert

    Combine 6 egg yolks, sugar, and juice of 2 lemons in a double boiler, and cook over med. heat until thickened; Remove from heat

    Soften gelatin in cold water until dissolved; add to custard and mix in well; set aside
  • 3
    Beat egg whites until stiff, slowly add 3/4 cup sugar, mixing well; fold into custard mix
  • 4
    In a baking dish break up the angel food cake into pieces; pour the custard mixture over the cake pieces; cover and refrigerate for 24 hours, serve with whipped cream
