Ingredients
- 1 - egg
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1 cup nuts
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 package cream cheese, 8 ounces
- 2 - eggs, first egg is for bottom layer
How To Make katherine's gooey butter cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Melt butter. Mix butter, one egg, cake mix and nuts. I use walnuts or pecans. This will be the consistency of pastry. Press into a 9x13 inch greased pan.

Step 3Mix powdered sugar, two eggs and cream cheese. Pour over bottom layer and bake until lightly golden brown. Do not over bake. Will be slightly loose while hot. Bake 35-40 minutes.
