Easier than Apple Pie

Amanda Marble

I have never been able to make a good pie crust, so I designed this instead.
I have used white, yellow or butter cake mix and just added extra spices to the batter.

How to Make Easier than Apple Pie

  1. I have this lovely apple corer/peeler. This amazing tool makes dealing with peeling and coring apples SO much easier. True, it's not needed, but it LOVELY to use. Plus, it makes these darling, pretty strands of apple peels that I could've taken a million pictures of, as the textures are great and intriguing.
  2. Preheat Oven to 375 degrees.
  3. Mix all the dry ingredients together.
  4. Mix wet ingredients together.
  5. Blend wet and dry ingredients together.
  6. Set batter aside.
  7. Lay one layer of apple slices in the bottom of a large pie dish (10")
  8. Cover with batter, repeat until all the apples are layered in batter.
  9. Cover with remaining batter
  10. Bake for 1 hour, and 10 minutes.
  11. Cool 10-15 minutes.
  12. Serve with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and drizzle in Caramel Sauce!
