Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup shortning
- 1 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups applesauce
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup water(mixed with the 1 teaspoon soda)
- BUTTER CREAM FROSTING
- 1 stick butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon good vanilla
How To Make applesauce cake

Step 1Cream sugar and shortening.

Step 2Add well beaten egg and applesauce.

Step 3Mix flour spices and salt.

Step 4Mix soda that has been dissolved in1/2 cup hot water

Step 5Alternately add flour mixture and soda mixture to creamed sugar mixture.Beating after each addition.

Step 6Add raisin and nuts; beat another3 minutes.

Step 7Pour into a 9x13 inch pan.

Step 8Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Step 9Frost with Butter Cream Frosting
