1920's lemon pound cake
I found this recipe in an old news paper clipping.. It says it is from the Ritz Carlton tea room...who knows? But I like it!!

Ingredients
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
- 5 large eggs
- 1 cup milk, whole
- 6 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 - lemon, zested
How To Make 1920's lemon pound cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350* Cream together the sugar and butter till fluffy.. Add in the eggs one at a time, beating well with mixer.

Step 2alternate adding dry ingredients with the milk, until all is combined.

Step 3lastly fold in the lemon juice and lemon zest. mixing well.

Step 4Bake in 2 large loaf pans or in a tube pan, for 55 min. Cool 15 min, then turn out to finish cooling on rack. Enjoy!
