2 dozen cookies



  • 2/3 c
    butter, softened
  • 2/3 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 large
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/3 c
    strawberry drink mix( powder)
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
  • GLAZE:

  • 1 c
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp
    crisco solid shortening

  • 1/3 c
    butter, softened
  • 2 Tbsp
    strawberry drink mix (powdered)
  • 1 pinch
  • 3 c
    powdered sugar
  • 3 to 5 Tbsp

How to Make Strawberry Valentine Cookies


  1. Cookie:
    In a small bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and lemon juice. Combine flour, drink mix. baking powder, and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well.
  2. On a lightly powdered sugar surface, roll out dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with a 2 1/2 to 3 inch heart cookie cutter. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in 350^ oven for 8-10 minutes or until set and edges just begin to brown. Cool 2 minutes before removing from tray to cooling rack.
  3. Glaze:
    In a microwave, melt chocolate chips and shortening in microwave safe dish at 30 second intervals; stir until smooth. Spread over cookies; let stand until set.
  4. Frosting:
    In a small bowl. beat butter, drink mix and salt until blended. Gradually beat in powdered sugar. Add enough milk to desired thickness. Decorate cookies with you special messages.
