sour cream cookies
Another recipe from Karen Bennion in the late 70's. Very excellent. This recipe makes a large batch of cookies. (She may have given it to me "doubled"). But the cookies are excellent. The recipe can be halved but just use two eggs instead of three if halving.

Ingredients
- COOKIES
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 - well beaten eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 5 cups sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- FROSTING
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar (or to consistency)
- pinch - salt
- 1 or 2 teaspoons canned milk (or to consistency)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Step 1Make cookies, you know how -- those were her instructions LOL

Step 2Cream the butter and sugar, add the three well beaten eggs, then the sour cream and vanilla

Step 3Sift the dry ingredients and add to the wet mixture

Step 4Mix all together and drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet bake 350 for 10-12 min or until done

Step 5After they have cooled, make the frosting and frost

Step 6FROSTING: cream the butter and sugar, adding a tsp of vanilla and one or two tsp canned milk for consistency, don't forget the pinch of salt.
