My mom made these when I was little, and they are still a favorite. A Southern taste in a cookie that just reminds me of home.

Ingredients
- 1 2/3 cups sifted flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 - unbeaten egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- BROWN SUGAR GLAZE
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
How To Make praline cookies

Step 1Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Cream butter. Add brouwn sugar to butter, gradually, creaming well.

Step 2Blend in egg, vanilla, and dry ingredients; mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.

Step 3Add Brown Sugar Glaze over cooled cookies if desired. Mix all ingredients of glaze together and mix well. Add more confectioner's sugar or water to make just pourable. Add a pecan half if desired.
