1 1/2 stick(3/4 cup) unsalted butter
1/2 cplus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
2 tspfinely grated orange peel
1 call-purpose flour
How to Make Orange Shortbread
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9" square baking pan.
- Beat butter and the 1/2 cup sugar with electric mixer until creamy. Beat in orange peel. Stir in flour and and cornstarch until blended.
- Spread mixture in prepared pan. Chill 30 minutes.
- With a sharp knife, score dough in 1 1/2x3 inch bars. Sprinkle with remaining tablespoon of sugar.
Bake 50 minutes or until golden. Cut through scored lines.
