oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies
This has long been a favorite cookie of mine and I have tweaked the original recipe just a tad because I prefer milk chocolate chips over semi-sweet. To each his own. Enjoy! Recipe: Bettycrocker.com Photos: Mine

Makes 3-1/2 dozen
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 cup (two sticks) butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 - egg
- 2 cups quick cooking oats
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips (may use semi-sweet if you prefer)
- 1 cup chopped pecans, if desired
How To Make oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies

Step 1In a large bowl, stir brown sugar and butter together until blended. Add vanilla and egg and beat until light and fluffy.

Step 2Stir in oats, flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.

Step 3Add chocolate chips and nuts. Stir until thoroughly combined.

Step 4Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.

Step 5Cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet to wire rack.
