Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    cream of tartar
  • 3
    egg yolks
  • 1 c
    real butter
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 c
    white sugar
  • ·
    colored sugar or sprinkles, if you must

How to Make MY MAILMAN'S FAVORITE SUGAR COOKIES

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar.
  3. Blend in the egg yolks and vanilla.
  4. Add the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Mix just until blended. Mixture will be somewhat crumbly.
  5. Form into walnut-size balls, or larger if you want a bigger sugar cookie.
  6. Roll cookie balls in plain or colored sugar or sprinkles.
  7. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for about 8 - 12 minutes. Do not let these get brown.
