Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour,unbleached
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 6 tablespoons butter or vegetable shortering,melted
- 1/2 cup reduced fat buttermilk
- 1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips
How To Make irish scones

Step 1Heat oven to 400 degrees.Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.

Step 2In another bowl lightly beat eggs,mix in melted butter and buttermilk.Add liquids to dry ingredients,mix to combine.Mix in raisins or chocolate chips.

Step 3Divide dough into thirds.On a floured board pat each piece into a 1 inch thick circle.

Step 4Cut each circle into quarters. Transfer wedges to baking sheet.Bake until golden,15 minutes.Serve warm.
