granny ruth's molasses suger cookies
This recipe is from my mother she got from her mother, Grandmother Beulah. Don't know how far it goes back. I did some research and my great Grandmother used to make this recipe. This recipe is for ( Time after Time ) cookies.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups shortening
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup dark molasses
- 2 - eggs
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 4 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- - additional sugar to roll out cookies

Step 1Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses and eggs BEAT WELL.

Step 2Add dry ingredients and stir until dough is mixed well.

Step 3Form 1 inch balls roll in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
