Ingredients
- PASTRY:
- 1 cup plus 2 tbsp. all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
- FILLING:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
- 2-1/2 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 - egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
How To Make amish keufels

Step 1In a large bowl, mix flour, butter, and cream cheese together, using a fork.

Step 2Form dough into 24 small balls. Press and shape each ball into a shell in greased muffin cups.

Step 3Mix brown sugar, nuts, butter, egg, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl until thoroughly combined. Spoon mixture into the prepared shells.

Step 4Bake in a preheated 350º oven until keufels are lightly browned and filling is bubbling, about 20 minutes.
