I made this recipe when I was a child. It was from a child’s picture cookbook my mother got for me. Everyone loved them. I got a blue ribbon them when I entered them in the County Fair as a 4-H entry. It became the recipe I taught for 4-H because of the steps and the substitution requirement ( baking chocolate in the original recipe to coco).

How to Make County Fair Brownies

  1. Melt butter, 1 stick + 2 tablespoons (10 tablespoons), cool and add coco to it.
  2. Beat eggs and sugar together. Add vanilla. Mix in the chocolate and butter mixture.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Do not over mix.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Do not over bake. Cool on a rack. Brownies will be moist.

I line a pan and take them out of the pan to cool.
