This was my grandmother's recipe. Made for special occations but, it's too good not to share the love for Valintines Day.

(The eggs in this dish are not cooked.)

How to Make Chocolate Icebox Dessert

  • 1Combine water, sugar and cocoa. Boil for 6 min, let cool.
(Letting it cool is an important step if you want it to be creamy and fluffy in the end.)
  • 2Cream butter and powdered sugar. Add 3 egg yolks, beat well.
Add marshmallows, chocolate sauce and nuts. Mix well.
  • 3Beat egg whites to a hard peak, fold into chocolate mixture.
(I some times add a 1/4 tsp. cream of tarter and 1 tsp. of sugar to help it stiffen up)
  • 4Crush graham crackers. Spread half of the crumbs in a 9X9 pan. Pour in mixture on top of crumbs. Sprinkle remaning crumbs on top.
  • 5Place in icebox (refridgerator) over night before serving.
