Blizzard Peppermint Bark

Maggie May Schill

I suggest eating it within a day of making it, because I gave it to a few people like four days or so after making it and I felt it had gotten slightly chalky. Sugar is a delicate and temperamental (temper? haha get it!?) thing, especially when heating. This recipe requires you to melt chocolate, whatever method you use just remember that it is delicate. I used a double boiler, but it should be known that if even a tiny drop of water gets into the chocolate, or if it is heated too fast, the sugars in the chocolate with go crazy! And you will end up with chocolate that seizes up into a mash mess

How to Make Blizzard Peppermint Bark

  1. In a food processor grind up your peppermints until fine
  2. Again, in a food processor grind up your white chocolate until it is like little snow balls!!!
  3. Melt dark chocolate in a double boiler (or with your preferred method.)
  4. Pour dark chocolate out into a greased glass dish. Adjust thickness of dark chocolate layer to your liking.
  5. Sprinkle white chocolate and peppermint over melted dark chocolate layer.

Allow to harden in a refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
