This is quick and easy- especially if you have a lot of gifts to give.. people love this recipe..I give with the gift.

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted first
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped

How To Make penuche for christmas gift-giving

  • Step 1
    Line a loaf pan with foil and butter well;set aside. In a heavy bottomed saucepan, melt the butter and add the sugar, Cook over low heat for 2 minutes;stirring constantly.
  • Step 2
    Increase the heat to medium and add the milk; continue to cook and stir,until the mixture comes to a boil. Remove from the heat and let cool for 35 minutes. Gently stir in the powdered sugar a little at a time until the mixture is like fudge. Stir in the nuts.
  • Step 3
    Spread in prepared buttered 9x5 inch loaf pan. Chill;and cut into squares.
