christmas candy fruit slices
This candy roll cut into slices is so good if you like fruit cake you will love these candy slices. My mom always made these for New Years- but I like them for Christmas gifts too!

Ingredients
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon heaping butter
- 1 pound dates, chopped
- 1 pound raisins, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
- 1 cup light cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pound figs, chopped
- pound chopped coconut
How To Make christmas candy fruit slices

Step 1In a saucepan cook sugar, cream and butter to soft ball stage( 236^). Add vanilla. Beat until creamy, then beat in fruit,nuts and coconut When well mixed, roll tightly in log shape. Wrap in barely dampened clean cloth , but not wet. Then in waxed paper and store in cool place at least 2 weeks. Slice in rounds and serve.
