This candy roll cut into slices is so good if you like fruit cake you will love these candy slices. My mom always made these for New Years- but I like them for Christmas gifts too!

  • 3 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    heaping butter
  • 1 lb
    dates, chopped
  • 1 lb
    raisins, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c
    chopped nuts
  • 1 c
    light cream
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 lb
    figs, chopped
  • lb
    chopped coconut

How to Make Christmas Candy Fruit Slices


  1. In a saucepan cook sugar, cream and butter to soft ball stage( 236^). Add vanilla.
    Beat until creamy, then beat in fruit,nuts and coconut When well mixed, roll tightly in log shape.
    Wrap in barely dampened clean cloth , but not wet. Then in waxed paper and store in cool place at least 2 weeks.
    Slice in rounds and serve.
