texas cake
I know there are a lot of versions of this recipe out there. This is my family's recipe. I think it is called Texas Cake because it is big, rich and has nuts in it.

Ingredients
- BRING TO A BOIL TOGETHER:
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- REMOVE FROM HEAT AND ADD:
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- COOL BATTER AND BEAT IN:
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- AFTER BAKING TOP WITH:
- 1 package mini marshmallows
- FOR THE FROSTING, BOIL TOGETHER:
- 1 stick butter
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 6 tablespoons milk
- REMOVE FROM HEAT AND STIR IN:
- 1 pound powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts

Step 1After mixing cake ingredients together, pour into a greased jelly roll pan (11x17).

Step 2Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes before topping with the mini marshmallows and drizzling the icing over the cake while it is still hot.
