How To Make grilled fireside shortcake
-
Step 1Stir all ingredients together, except fruit, to form a soft dough. Spread dough in one sprayed or greased 9-inch foil pie pan. Invert another sprayed or greased same size foil pan over pan with dough. Secure rims together with spring - type clothespins. Place pans on grill 4 inches from hot coals. Cook 15 minutes on each side or until brown. Serve warm with strawberries crushed with sugar or other fruit.
-
Step 2Note: You may just want to cook dough on a stick over coals until baked through. On long skewers or stick cover end of stick with fol and spray foil all around. Divide dough into 8 equal pieces and form around sprayed foil. Hold over coals until baked through turning often. Remover to dish and server with berries and ice cream or topping.
