Ingredients For great grandma’s texas sheet cake

  • CAKE INGREDIENTS
  • 2 stick
    butter
  • 4 Tbsp
    unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 c
    water
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • dash
    salt
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking soda
  • 1 c
    buttermilk
  • FROSTING INGREDIENTS
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 5 Tbsp
    unsweetened cocoa
  • 6 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 box
    icing sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla

How To Make great grandma’s texas sheet cake

    Preheat oven to 375 and grease a 18″x13″ cookie sheet.

    Mix flour, sugar, salt, eggs, and vanilla in a bowl.

    Mix the baking soda into the buttermilk and then add it to your other ingredients.

    Boil butter, cocoa, and water for 2 minutes and then add it to your mixing bowl.

    Mix well and pour batter into a greased 18×13″ cookie sheet.

    Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes

    While the cake is baking prepare the frosting.

    In a medium saucepan heat butter until melted. Add cocoa and stir until it is dissolved. Add milk and vanilla and bring to a boil. Let boil for 1 minute.

    Add confectioners sugar and stir until the sugar is well incorporated.
