We were stationed in Erlangen Germany when our children were very small...There was a bakery that we would stop by every day when we would go down town to shop or ride the bus...We would always purchase these they are so yummy...They were chocolate on one half and almond/white on the other half...The kids loved these as myself....I don't have a picture yet so I have put a free picture of a Erlangen Bakerei till I have one...

Cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and sour cream, and almond extract. Mix in dry ingredients. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Roll out dough to a 3/8 inch thickness using a generous amount of flour. Cut out and bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 8 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
Mix up the glaze ingredients and dip half the rounded side of each cake/cookie into the glaze. Swirl it slightly to let excess glaze drip off and flip right side up onto the drying rack. Allow to dry fully.
