Here's the icing recipe for Black Magic Cake that I said I would send if any one wanted it. Sorry it's been a week or more because I had a grandson graduate from college and a son coming home for a couple of weeks from USC at Los Angeles. Hope all of you like the icing. Be sure to let the milk get room temperature.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup room temperature milk (don't use skim or 2%)
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup crisco solid shortening (not liquid)
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

How To Make black magic icing

  • Step 1
    Beat the butter and sugar. Add crisco. Then add flour Add milk gradually as you are mixing (with a mixer) Add vanilla After mixing all ingredients, frost the cake and enjoy. If your icing separates, your milk was probably too cold. Use homogenized milk only. Good luck
