Here's the icing recipe for Black Magic Cake that I said I would send if any one wanted it. Sorry it's been a week or more because I had a grandson graduate from college and a son coming home for a couple of weeks from USC at Los Angeles.
Hope all of you like the icing. Be sure to let the milk get room temperature.

Method:
No-Cook or Other

Ingredients

  • 2/3 c
room temperature milk (don't use skim or 2%)
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    crisco solid shortening (not liquid)
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla

How to Make Black Magic Icing

Step-by-Step

  1. Beat the butter and sugar.
    Add crisco.
    Then add flour
Add milk gradually as you are mixing (with a mixer)
    Add vanilla
After mixing all ingredients, frost the cake and enjoy.
If your icing separates, your milk was probably too cold. Use homogenized milk only. Good luck
