A super delicious alternative to bread. Keto is my way of eating and when wanting a sandwich, this is what I turn to. Use your imagination and even make a healthy dessert with them or just an ordinary waffle. So much healthier than bread. Enjoy!

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Stop the press. If you are following a Keto lifestyle, you'll be in heaven with this chaffle recipe. Buying a mini waffle maker is well worth it for this recipe. But, they can be made in a traditional waffle maker too (you'll have to double the recipe). The chaffle puffs up in the cooking process. It's soft but stable enough to hold like sandwich bread. We followed Cassie's directions and made a delicious Keto-friendly BLT. But, you can really get creative with different types of cheese and seasonings. The possibilities are endless!

Ingredients For chaffles blt

  • 1
    jumbo egg
  • 1 Tbsp
almond flour or can leave out, I like it as it makes the chaffles more substantial
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 1/2 c
cheddar, shredded, or favorite cheese. Don’t use already shredded cheese as there is added potato starch to keep from sticking together. Shred fresh, it’s best!
  • Other
    seasonings, if wish
  • Fixings
for BLT - cooked bacon, lettuce, tomato

How To Make chaffles blt

  • Dash mini waffle iron on the counter.
    1
First, you need a mini waffle iron, such as a Dash. They sell for $ 9.99 at Target. I’ve purchased two to get the sammies out quicker to the family!
  • Egg, almond flour, and grated cheese in a bowl.
    2
Place egg, almond flour, and grated cheese in a small bowl.
  • Ingredients mixed together.
    3
Mix ingredients with a fork until mixed thoroughly.
  • Half the mixture poured into the waffle maker
    4
Plug in the Dash. Doesn’t take long to get hot. Once hot, spray with non-stick spray and pour in just half of the egg mixture. Close lid and wait for 3-4 minutes, or until desired crispness. Repeat.
