hawaiian chewy granola

Updated on Nov 23, 2015

We visited Kona, Hawaii in 2006 and had this soft, chewy granola served on top of a half of papaya with greek vanilla yogurt, and granola sprinkled on top. It was at the Lava Java Cafe on the beach. We loved it so much, we asked for the recipe and they gave it to us! We've been making it ever since. We returned to live in Kona in 2015 and went back to Lava Java Cafe and they still serve this granola. It is obviously very popular and loved by anyone who tries it! This recipe makes a huge amount, which can be stored in large ziplocs, or make a half size! Aloha~
