have it your way omelet
My husband & I had these Omelet's for the first time when we went on a retreat last month at a Monastery in Ohio. They were so delicious and we were so shocked that they cooked them in ziploc baggies. I was skeptical that the omelets would cook through with cheese inside too. To my surprise we loved it and they were light and fluffy and yummy too. So, this Memorial Day weekend May 30,2011 I made them for our family at the camp and they fell in love with them too. Now, my Dad is going to make them for his hunting buddies when "hunting season" rolls around in the fall. I hope you enjoy. Kim P.S. --- I posted several pics of my family making these at camp this weekend.

How To Make have it your way omelet
-
Step 1Prep all your items going into the omelet into medium sized bowls with spoons in each bowl.
-
Step 2Fill a very very large deep pot 1/2 to 2/3 full of water and bring to a boil. Write the names of who is having a omelet on to the baggies with a permanent black marker. Now crack two eggs into each bag and seal it tightly.
-
Step 3Have each individual person smash eggs in their own bag and then open and spoon in their desired additions to the omelet and seal the bag.
-
Step 4If they put in alot of cheese it may take 15 minutes but otherwise it is 13 minutes to cook in the boiling water. I cooked 7 at a time because I had a large pot and that was about all that would fit. But how many your pot will fit is good. So, 13 minutes and you can remove the bags and give to the individuals to open and place whatever toppings that they want.
-
Step 5My nephews REALLY enjoyed making these and even wanted seconds! So, it is fun for the whole family. Hope you enjoy.
