These pancakes are a great way to start the day; these heirloom pancakes were grandma's favorite recipe- for a winter breakfast to mix up and fry . These taste wonderful and I like to serve these with thinned down lemon curd heated and topped with sour cream.

1 c
all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
each ground cinnamon and ground ginger
1 pinch
ground cloves
1/2 c
skim milk
3 Tbsp
dark molasses
1 Tbsp
canola oil
1 large
egg, slightly beaten

How to Make Gingerbread Pancakes-healthy


  • 1Spray skillet with cooking spray.
    Heat skillet or electric fry pan on medium heat (about 350^ for electric pan)
    Cook large spoonfuls of batter , turning once when bubbles appear on surface.
  • 2Combine dry ingredients. In a large measuring cup or medium bowl combine wet ingredients. Now mix both together until just moisten and blended. Set batter aside for 10 minutes before pouring in batter.
  • 3Serve with thinned down lemon curd and a dollop of sour cream or , if prefer, applesauce or apple butter.
