best oatmeal ever

(In my opinion) I was looking for a way to have oatmeal that was healthy and tasty but not loaded with sugar, this is the result.

Ingredients

  • 5 -6 cup my coconut milk recipe
  • 1/4 cup rasins
  • 1/4 cup dates, chopped
  • 1/4 cup coconut, shredded
  • 1/8 cup dried cherries, cut in half
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup toasted wheat germ
  • 3 tablespoons flax seeds
  • 1/4 cup wheat bran
  • 3 tablespoons cream of wheat, quick-cook style
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup applesauce, unsweetened
  • - fresh or frozen fruit, blueberries, peaches etc

How To Make best oatmeal ever

  • Step 1
    pour coconut milk in med. sauce pan, add dried fruit, vanilla and cinnamon, over med. heat bring to a full boil.
  • Step 2
    In a bowl lightly mix dry ingredients, pour slowly into boiling mixture while stirring. Stirring constantly bring to a full boil then lower heat to simmer for about 5 minutes. a few min. longer if needed
  • Step 3
    If too thick add applesauce or more coconut milk. Serve with fresh or frozen fruit, toast and nuts for a totally healthy breakfast.
